Several businesses have had ups and downs as a result of the coronavirus pandemic in different parts of the world. Although many individuals were aware of live shopping before the outbreak, the surge accelerated after quarantine regulations were implemented. Since conventional retail outlets are no longer accessible, customers have flocked to internet platforms to make purchases and conduct a business. To contact their clients, many shops and businesses have gone online.
Livestream video provides merchants, brands, and digital platforms with a new approach to generating value by combining entertainment with the chance to purchase something immediately. The "see-now-want-now" mindset is rapidly transforming the way we buy, and live shopping is deeply based on this mindset. People may communicate in real-time, constituting a social element to live broadcasting. Viewers may ask questions and write comments in real time that the streamer and everyone else can see. So that the streamer may answer immediately.
By encouraging their audience to utter "Mine!" on the merchandise shown during a broadcast, Filipino live sellers on Facebook make the experience functional. Audiences who write "Mine!" first on items owned by the streamer have first rights and may transact through direct chat for payment options and delivery information. However, Facebook's parent company, Meta, has stated that Live Shopping would be discontinued on October 1, 2022. According to them, consumer watching habits are evolving toward short-form video, thus the firm will concentrate on creating reels for Facebook and Instagram to compete with Tiktok's expanding content distribution.

Moreover, TikTok store items may be bought using product anchors placed in short videos, live streams, and the TikTok product showcase tab of a merchant's TikTok website, allowing customers to be amused while shopping. Through this brand new e-commerce platform, TikTok Shop hopes to expand business prospects not just for companies but also for small businesses. All of these, while offering customers a novel purchasing experience and chances for local content producers. Even the hard-to-find must-haves are available locally, along with economical and distinctive products.
Compared to his greatest live session before the campaign, TikTok live creator Harold Balilo's GMV increased by almost 500% in a single live session. "I first used TikTok Shop in April. This is my first time engaging in live sales. As a student and small artist seeking a part-time job as a livestreaming maker, I am incredibly pleased and thrilled," Harold said. TikTok Shop in the Philippines aims to provide local companies with a new method of client engagement. It also intends to make purchasing easier for Filipinos without forcing them to leave their preferred mobile entertainment platform. On the platform, merchants will incur no commission costs for selected items, while payment service partners would pay no more than one percent in fees.
One of the most notable distinctions between TikTok and other social media platforms is that you do not need a large number of followers for the algorithm to display your content to the TikTok community. The creators of TikTok claim that you don't need tens of thousands of followers for your content to become famous on the platform. It claims to show your content to accounts whose interests are similar to yours. This is fantastic news for vendors since they can now be certain that their items will "reach" customers or accounts with comparable interests.

Another advantage of TikTok Shop is that sellers may add a link to your web store. You can do live selling streams on TikTok, with a link, to your webshop for interested parties.
TikTok's greatest strength, its brief videos, is also its greatest weakness. Some may argue that more than the video's maximum duration of 10 minutes may be required for the seller to live-sell the goods, depending on the nature of the product. A brief video may not be the most effective approach to promoting a visually unappealing product.
